Enrolment process
At Koolunga Primary, we value the child and the family.
Our staff recognise that the first schooling experience is different for each child, and that the transition should be supported and positive.
Parents are encouraged to share information about their child with the site leader. This is so a tailored and successful transition can be achieved for all parties.
When children can start school
If your child turns 5:
- before 1 May, they can start school in term 1 of that year (4 terms of reception)
- between 1 May and 31 October, they can start school in term 3 of that year (MID-YEAR INTAKE: 6 terms of reception)
- after 31 October, they can start school in term 1 of the following year (4 terms of reception)
Your child must be at school by their 6th birthday.
Visit the school enrolment section on the department’s website for more information.
